June 5, 2018  By P&PC staff

June 5, 2018 – Twin Rivers Paper Company has completed the acquisition of the Pine Bluff, Ark. paper mill.

Jointly owned by Atlas Holdings and Blue Wolf Capital, Twin Rivers – based in Madawaska, Me. – produces specialty packaging, label, publishing and technical specialty papers as well as dimension lumber.

The mill acquired under this agreement produces multiwall, converting and bag-grade unbleached kraft papers serving a variety of food, agricultural, and industrial applications. With basis weights between 40-pound and 78-pound, the mill has a capacity in excess of 140,000 U.S. short tons. The acquisition marks Twin Rivers’ second investment in packaging and technical markets in recent years, following the purchase of the paper manufacturing assets of the Burrows Corporation in 2016.

“We are pleased to add this facility and its valued associates to our company,” Ken Winterhalter, president of Twin Rivers, said. “We are confident we have the teams in place to provide a seamless and efficient transition for our customers and that the Pine Bluff mill will live up to Twin Rivers’ reputation for outstanding service.”
